ASID Design Excellence Awards 2008This year marks the Fifth Annual Celebration of Design hosted by the ASID Illinois Chapter and i4 design Magazine. The ASID Design Excellence Awards provides a venue for Illinois' Designers to enter their best work. Entwine Interiors won First Place in 2 categories: Bathroom and Kitchen under 200 square feet.

What: Galley kitchen measuring 8-by 17 1/2 feet redesigned to work for a family of four.
Feature: Two appliances help the room gain space: The refrigerator's French doors do not stick out as far as one wide one would, and the range has a small warming drawer/over instead of a second oven.
Tip: Tuck storage everywhere - cabinets under the table, a pantry next to a window and another in an adjacent hallway. And extend a countertop over a portion of the table that no diner would use anyway.
