Renovating your home increases its value while enhancing your enjoyment. The owners of this previously outdated apartment were ready to move to a larger home with a functional kitchen and open floor plan that would allow them to entertain friends. The problem? They didn't feel comfortable selling until market conditions improved. After consulting with Entwine Interiors and a real estate agent, they decided to invest in their most valuable asset, their home. A design budget was calculated that would allow them to get the biggest return on their investment when it came time to sell. In the meantime, they would benefit from the improvements and fully enjoy their current home. An instant "mood changer" is how the owners described their newly renovated apartment. So why wait? Make a date to renovate!
To improve the overall layout and make the apartment feel more spacious, the wall between the living room and kitchen was removed. In its place, a dining counter -- for eating or serving drinks and hors d'oevres to guests -- was extended from the kitchen. A sophisticated neutral color scheme was devised with white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, taupe quartz countertop and glass tile backsplash. A track light was installed which immediately made working in the previously dimly lit kitchen a breeze.
